How hard is it to install?
It requires removing all eproms on the main and audio board and plugging in 2 daughter boards. 3 wires are required to be soldered from the kit to your sound board. Additionally a pause button can be installed in your cabinet.

How do you change games?
There's an optional but recomended pause button not included in the kit. The pause button will pause the game and shift the palette as a visual display. From there you can press start to return to game, or fire to return to the selection menu. The sounds are not cleared so any running sound effects will continue during the pause. The pause button can be any normally open switch connected to ground such as the coin switch. If you don't install the switch you must turn the machine off and on to reach the menu.

Which boards can it be installed on?
So far it's been tested on Combat. The only one I'm sure won't work w/o modifing the board is hit n miss. There are dips on the kit to describe what board you have.

How much will it be?
Around $300-$350. I don't expect there to be much demand for this so the costs get divided among much fewer people. Addionally the parts are expensive. Keep in mind the kit is repacing ~400 eproms and 9 nvram chips.

What games will be included?
1 Crossbow
2 Cheyenne
3 Combat
4 Crackshot
5 Chiller
6 Clay Pigeon
7 Hit 'n Miss 3.0
8 Who Dunit
9 Catch-22

I haven't found anything in Hit n Miss 2.0 that's not in 3.0. Top secret obviously is unplayable w/o a wheel and a bunch of buttons. That just leaves show down. Adding another game would bump a number of the roms up to 27c80 which is a big jump in price, so I'm not planning it.

Are the roms altered?
Yes, several of the roms have had the free play dipswitch moved so that the freeplay dip is the same in all games. All games have had the power on self test trigger inverted. Normally you hold the trigger to skip the test, for this you hold the trigger to do the test. Clay Pigeon has been modified to remove one of the protection checks. The rest of Clay Pigeon and the other games emulate the protection in hardware.

How do I get to the diagnostic menu?
That's a little tricky. Normally you hold the start button down when you turn the machine on. The way you can do that with the menu is this. Hold the trigger down to select your game then hold the start button down. Quickly release and pull the trigger again. This will get you into the diagnostic memory and the gun calibration screen.

Do I have to calibrate the gun for every game?
No, not if you don't want. There's a utility in the diagnostic menu to copy crossbow settings to all other games. You can get to this menu by holding the start button when you boot and firing the trigger to advance past the color screens(RGB).

Can certain game or games be removed from the menu?
Yes. By turning all 8 of the audio board dips on and booting you will go to a menu select menu. It works the same as the other menu. Games in Green are included in the main menu and games in red are removed from the menu. Turn the machine off to exit this mode. Note, some games are listed that are not available. Top Secret, HnM 2.0 and Showdown have entries but are not included.

When will it be available?
After beta testing a while.

Trouble shooting.
Games have the wrong or no sounds.
If the games are from the wrong game the 4 wires from main to audio boards are out of order. If not the 3 wires soldered to the sound board are incorrect.

Main menu has no games listed. The selection box moves normally until the last postion where it behaves oddly.
You have no games enabled. Add some games to the menu.
